Will I fit in the seat I like?▾
Every seat we list is a different size and shape, and two shells tagged with the same waist range will hold you completely differently. If you are unsure, ring 0115 9893488 and CallyAI will take your height and your waist size and talk you through it. Better still, book into the showroom and sit in four of them.
Will the seats fit my car?▾
Bucket seats are universal by nature, so none of them are compatible with your original equipment on their own. What makes one fit your car is the fitting kit, and that is chosen per vehicle. Find your car in the vehicle guides, or send us the make, model and year and we will put a package together.
How do I know whether I need side mount or base mount?▾
The fitting kit decides it, not the seat, and which kits exist depends on the car. Side mount seats bolt through the sides onto a subframe and sit lower. Base mount seats bolt through the bottom. The two are not interchangeable, so settle it before you buy a shell. Your vehicle guide will tell you which routes your car has.
Do I need a harness for a track day?▾
Usually not, and a badly mounted harness is worse than the standard belt. It depends on the organiser, on whether the car has a cage, and on whether you are running a HANS device. We have a guide that goes through the circumstances properly.
My FIA seat has expired. What are my options?▾
FIA 8855-1999 seats are valid for five years from manufacture, extendable to ten in total with the manufacturer. If yours is out and you are still competing, you need a new one. Bring it in or send us a photograph of the label and we will tell you where you stand and what the current dating is on the replacements.
Can I get VAT relief on a seat?▾
If you are replacing a wheelchair seat or you qualify on disability grounds, yes. The declaration forms are on the VAT relief page and the reclining ranges from Auto Style, Cobra, Corbeau and Recaro are the ones people usually end up in.
When were you established?▾
Garreth set the business up in 2003 from his bedroom, and it has been growing ever since. It is still family run, which is why you get the same two people every time you ring.
Where are you located?▾
Nottinghamshire, in the Midlands, just off the A46. That puts most of the country within a couple of hours. The showroom is by appointment, Monday to Friday, 10.00am to 4.00pm.
