Cybul
Cybul are the brand to know if you own an MX-5 and you are unhappy with how high you sit in it. They are a Polish manufacturer and almost everything they make is drawn around one car, across all four generations, which is unusual and it shows in how well the parts fit. We hold the seat mounts, the lowering kits and the rollbars.
Seat mounts to drop a bucket seat as low as the floor, a lowering kit if you want to keep the standard seats, and rollbars that come with a harness bar built in.
One car, done properly
Most bracket manufacturers cover a hundred cars adequately. Cybul cover one car very well indeed, and that difference is the whole reason to buy them.
Everything is E355 steel, laser cut and CNC bent rather than folded by hand, and the rollbars are welded by hand from 45×2.5mm and 40x2mm drawn tube. The finish is good enough that the stainless NC rollbar is sold on its looks as much as anything.
The one part that is not an MX-5 part is a seat mount for the BMW E90, E91 and E92, built to the same pattern.
The core of the range. Low profile frames for side mounted bucket seats, with multiple hole positions so you can set the height and the fore and aft position rather than accepting one.
For drivers keeping the standard seats. The ND kit drops them 30mm and comes with the wrenches and the manual to do it.
Generation and roof specific, all with a harness bar included, and all designed to look close to standard rather than like a cage.
What Cybul actually make
Three lines, and which you need depends on whether you are changing the seats.
01Seat mounts
For fitting a side mounted bucket seat. Multiple hole positions for height and reach. On the NA and NB the lowest setting puts the seat on the floor.
02Seat lowering kits
Keep the standard seats and drop them. The ND kit gives 30mm and includes the wrenches, side mounts, fixings and a manual.
03Rollbars
Bolt in, harness bar included, and shaped to keep the standard look. Split by generation and by roof, including a PRHT version for the folding hard top NC.
Three questions
Answer these and the part number falls out.
Which generation is your car?
NA is the pop-up headlight car, NB the facelift, NC the 2005 to 2015 car and ND the current shape. Cybul make different parts for each and they are not interchangeable. If you are unsure, the chassis code is on the VIN plate and we can check it for you.
Are you keeping the standard seats?
If yes and you have an ND, the stock seat lowering kit is the answer and it is the cheapest thing here. If you are fitting bucket seats, you want a seat mount instead. Those are two different products and people order the wrong one.
What roof does it have?
This only matters for the rollbars, and it matters a lot. Soft top, hardtop and PRHT all need different clearance. The NC alone has a soft top version and a PRHT version at the same price, and the wrong one does not fit.
Street or track?
Only the ND rollbar splits this way. The Track version uses a single piece main hoop and is built for circuit use. The Street version keeps the stock windshot and all the standard mountings. Both are £769.
If you own an MX-5 and you are tall, start with the NA/NB mounts. Our own listing says it plainly: on the lowest setting the seat touches the floor. There is nowhere further down to go.
Cameron, GSM PerformanceFor a side mounted bucket seat
The NC mount at £149 is the one that sells most. The NA/NB pair at £79 is the cheapest way into a proper low seating position, and the ND mount with Sparco adjustable rails at £225 is the one to take if you want to keep adjustment after fitting.

The ND stock lowering kit
Not everyone wants bucket seats, and on an ND you do not need them to fix the driving position. This kit lowers the standard seats by 30mm and comes with laser cut wrenches, a pair of Cybul side mounts, the bolts, nuts and washers, and an instruction manual.
At £115 it is the cheapest thing Cybul make that changes how the car feels, and it is reversible.
Bolt in, with the harness bar included
Every one of these carries a harness bar as standard, which is the tube your shoulder straps mount to. Buying a rollbar that already has it at the right height saves a job. Check your roof type against the version before ordering, because soft top, hardtop and PRHT are not interchangeable.
Track focus and stainless
The ND Track rollbar swaps the main hoop for a single piece B-pillar and is the one for circuit use. The NC stainless is 304 throughout at £949, which is worth it on a car that lives outside or one where you will see the bar every time you open the roof.

What to expect
The ones we get asked
Does Cybul only make parts for the MX-5?▾
Very nearly. Twelve of the thirteen products we list are Mazda MX-5, covering NA, NB, NC and ND. The exception is a seat mount for the BMW E90, E91 and E92. If you have an MX-5 they are the brand to look at first, because the parts are drawn around that car rather than adapted to it.
How much lower will a Cybul seat mount get me?▾
On the NA and NB, as low as the floor. Our listing says that in the lowest of the multiple hole positions the seat touches the floor, which is why tall drivers get on with them. The NC and BMW mounts are described as low profile for the lowest possible seating position. The ND stock lowering kit is the one with a published figure, 30mm.
Can I lower my seats without buying bucket seats?▾
Yes, on the ND. The stock seat lowering kit keeps your original seats and drops them 30mm. It comes with laser cut wrenches, a pair of side mounts, the bolts and an instruction manual. It is the cheapest way to fix the driving position in an ND.
Will Cybul mounts fit my bucket seat?▾
They are built for side mounted bucket seats and our listings say they fit all of them. Side mounted means the seat bolts through its sides rather than its base, which is most fibreglass motorsport shells. If your seat is base mounted you want a different part, so ring us.
Which rollbar do I need for my MX-5?▾
It depends on the generation and the roof. Cybul do separate rollbars for NA/NB, NC and ND, and within the NC there are soft top and PRHT versions because the power retractable hard top needs different clearance. Getting this wrong is a several hundred pound mistake, so check the roof type before you order.
Do the rollbars include a harness bar?▾
Yes, that is one of the reasons people buy them. Every Cybul rollbar we list is equipped with a harness bar, which is the tube the shoulder straps mount to. It saves buying a separate bar and getting the height right yourself.
What is the difference between the ND Street and Track rollbars?▾
The main hoop. The Track version uses a single piece B-pillar hoop where the Street version does not, and it is built with track use in mind. The Street version keeps more of the standard car, including the stock windshot, the plastic covers, the seat belt mechanism and the roof mechanism mountings.
What are they made of?▾
E355 steel, laser cut and CNC bent, with the rollbars welded by hand from 45×2.5mm and 40x2mm drawn tube rather than rolled and seam welded stock. One NC rollbar is offered in 304 stainless at £949 if the car lives outside or you want the finish.
