BRIDE does not have one fixed-bucket rail and one reclining rail. The two-letter code describes a particular construction and seat pattern, while the car code and left or right suffix finish the part number. Start with the seat, car and driving position.
FO and FG suit many side-mounted fixed buckets, but they are not the whole answer. RO is associated with GIAS and STRADIA patterns; MO with EUROSTER and DIGO patterns. LOW MAX, wide-shell and fixed competition applications can call for LR, LF, XL or FX instead.
The previous guide said every fixed bucket used FO or FG and every recliner used RO or MO, with MO only chosen when RO was unavailable. BRIDE’s own compatibility tables do not support that. The range includes dedicated rails for different shell widths, bolt patterns and LOW MAX applications.
Pick the seat before the rail
The car listing can show several two-letter rail types at once. That is normal.
Name the exact seat
ZETA IV, ZIEG IV WIDE, STRADIA III and EUROSTER do not share one universal mounting pattern.
Name the exact car
Include chassis code, model year and whether the vehicle is right or left hand drive. Similar model names can use different floors.
Choose the side
BRIDE vehicle rails are handed. Confirm driver or passenger side rather than treating the part as a pair.
Decide the position
Standard, low and LOW MAX are not interchangeable promises. Decide whether helmet clearance, wheel clearance or road access is driving the choice.

If you send us "BRIDE rail for an S2000", we still need the seat. A ZETA, ZIEG WIDE and STRADIA can lead to different answers for the same car.

ZETA IV and ZIEG IV are quite different shapes even before the rail is considered. ZIEG IV WIDE also changes the rail width. We would sooner compare the driver and cockpit than recommend the most familiar model name.

RO and MO serve different seat families
MO is not simply the fallback when an RO does not exist.

Road-car comfort still needs a complete fitment check
A reclining mechanism changes the mount, seating height and access around the centre tunnel and door.
Take seat base width, shoulder clearance, recliner-handle access and original belt mounting into account. Removing an original seat can also affect occupancy sensors, side airbags and warning lights. Those parts of the installation sit outside the rail code.

A quoted drop is not a guaranteed eye line
BRIDE qualifies its height figures by vehicle, and the shell changes the result again.
Measure in the car

- Pedal reach with the seat back
- Harness or road-belt geometry
Do not assume
- FG is always exactly 50 mm lower
- LOW MAX fits every chassis
- A wider shell uses the same rail
- A rail fixes a poor driver fit
- The lowest setting is the safest setting
BRIDE quotes FO at a maximum 30 mm drop depending on the vehicle. FG and IG are quoted at up to 50 mm. Those are application-dependent maxima, not dimensions to subtract from every factory seat.
Approval belongs to the exact seat and installation
A BRIDE logo or premium price does not prove FIA eligibility.
Check the model and physical FIA label against the current FIA Technical List 12. The list published on 21 April 2026 records BRIDE homologation codes rather than shop-friendly names alone, so the label is the link between your seat and the official entry.
Then check the event rules, label validity, mounting requirements and condition of the shell. A road and track seat can be an excellent choice for a road car, but it is not made FIA approved by fitting it to a rail that has its own approval.
BRIDE lists the FX as an FIA-approved fixed competition rail. That does not add FIA homologation to a non-homologated seat, and an FIA-labelled seat still needs the mounting system required for its application.

Do all BRIDE fixed bucket seats use an FO or FG rail?▾
No. FO and FG cover many side-mounted fixed seats, but the exact shell and car can call for another type. LOW MAX applications may use LF, wider ZIEG IV WIDE shells use XL where listed, and competition installations may use fixed FX rails. Check the current BRIDE matching entry.
Is FG always lower than FO?▾
BRIDE quotes FO at up to 30 mm below the original position and FG or IG at up to 50 mm, depending on the vehicle. Some cars will not achieve the quoted drop. Cockpit clearance, steering position and safe mounting matter more than chasing one number.
Is MO simply the older alternative to RO?▾
No. MO and RO fit different reclining-seat bolt patterns and families. RO is listed for GIAS and STRADIA families; MO is listed for EUROSTER and DIGO families. Match the exact seat, not the age of the rail.
Which rail fits a ZIEG IV WIDE?▾
BRIDE lists the XL type for ZIEG IV WIDE where that rail exists for the vehicle. Do not order a normal-width FO or FG from the car name alone.
Which rail fits a STRADIA or GIAS?▾
RO is one published option for those families, but BRIDE also notes that a dedicated LR rail should be used for LOW MAX reclining seats where an LR is set for that vehicle. Check the exact matching list.
Are all BRIDE bucket seats FIA approved?▾
No. Approval belongs to the exact seat model and physical label, not the BRIDE name or price. Check the current FIA technical list and the label on the seat supplied.
Can I use a BRIDE rail with another brand of seat?▾
Some BRIDE rail pages list other seats within stated mounting dimensions, but compatibility and UK installation requirements still need checking. Do not assume that matching hole centres settle belt mounts, runners, strength or road requirements.
What details should I send for a BRIDE package?▾
