A Planted Technology seat bracket for the BMW 5 Series on the E34 chassis, 1987 to 1996. Part number SB288.

The E34 sits before the E39, which takes SB186, and BMW changed the floor between them.

The E34 M5 is a hand built car

Worth knowing before you touch the interior. BMW Motorsport assembled them largely by hand and the specification varied between cars. Values have gone somewhere serious and originality counts for real money, so if yours is an M5, keep everything and label it.

The Touring version of the M5 is rarer still. If you have one, talk to us before you do anything at all.

On the ordinary cars

A 535i or 525i E34 is a cheap, tough, well balanced rear wheel drive saloon and a sensible thing to build. The standard seat is a comfortable saloon seat with nothing to brace against.

Practical

Thirty five years old. E34s resist rust better than the E30 but the seat mounting area is still worth a look with the carpet up.
