A Planted Technology seat bracket for the VW Scirocco, second generation, 1981 to 1992. Part number SB427.

The Mk2 Scirocco takes its own part number rather than sitting in a family, which is unusual for a Volkswagen of this era. The Mk1 Scirocco shares the SB088 Golf Mk1 family, and the Mk3 shares the Golf Mk5 part. This one stands alone.

The Scala and the GTX

The 16 valve cars are what people chase now. Mk2 Sciroccos were cheap for decades and have started moving, particularly the later 16v models, so a reversible installation is worth having in a way it was not ten years ago.

The floor check is a real one

These rust, and forty year old ones that were cheap for most of their lives have often had work. Get the carpet up and look properly at the metal round the mounting points. If it is soft, sort the metal before a seat goes near it.

Practical

Light car, so ask us about lighter shells rather than the heaviest steel option. A period trimmed shell also suits a Mk2 Scirocco better than a modern carbon bucket.
