The 2026 Sabelt Harness Collection: Every Model, Spec and Approval
Harness guide, the Sabelt range for 2026
A customer kitting out a new build asked us for a breakdown of the current Sabelt range: every harness, the part number for each colour and the approval each one carries. Sabelt have renamed and re-coded a lot of their belts since 2024, so an older parts list rarely matches the 2026 catalogue.
So we went through the whole range. Every Sabelt harness we list was checked against Sabelt’s 2026 catalogue, its online catalogue and the FIA homologation forms. This page is what came out of it: all 24 belts, what separates them, the part number for each colour, the approvals and the strap lengths, with prices from our live listings.
- 14 six point and 3 four point FIA harnesses, plus 7 track day and road belts
- Three series: Steel from £210.00, Silver from £336.00 and Gold from £2,167.20 inc VAT
- Every model comes in red, black or blue
- 2 inch shoulder belts are approved for use with a HANS or other FHR device only
- Eye bolts come with every Sabelt FIA harness
- New for 2026: the Silver Enduro

What is on this page
The short answer
Pick the job first and the series second. A saloon or rally car where the driver wears a HANS takes a 2 inch belt such as the Sabelt Steel Rally. Without a HANS, a 3 inch belt such as the Sabelt Steel Rally 3×3 is the usual choice. A single seater takes one of the four formula belts, a Caterham or a Westfield takes its own Kit Car belt, and a road car takes a Clubman.
After that, Steel, Silver and Gold change the hardware. They do not change the approval: every FIA belt here meets the same standard for its layout, and the label carries the date that counts. Our 3 inch or 2 inch guide goes deeper on the shoulder width question.

Steel, Silver and Gold: what the extra money buys
Sabelt sort their competition belts into three series by what the hardware is made of. The adjusters are the clearest difference, and Sabelt publish their weights, so the step up is easy to see.
7 FIA belts
Steel
From £210.00 inc VAT
Where most club cars start
- Steel adjusters: A6 for 2 inch webbing at 94 g each, A5 for 3 inch at 147 g
- Sabelt B2, B3 or B4 aluminium buckle
- Snap hook or bolt-in ends
- Saloon, rally, formula and kit car versions
8 FIA belts
Silver
From £336.00 inc VAT
Everything in Steel, plus:
- Aluminium quick release adjusters: A2 at 70 g each, A1 forged at 95 g
- Grab handles on the GT and Porsche belts
- The Porsche, endurance and LPM-buckle models
- Quicker to pull tight with gloves on
2 FIA belts
Gold
From £2,167.20 inc VAT
Everything in Silver, plus:
- Titanium tongues and fixing plates
- CNC machined aluminium adjusters
- Sabelt B6 Formula 1 or B7 Endurance buckle
- Superlight webbing, made for top level racing
Cameron puts it simply when a customer asks: Steel does the job, Silver saves weight and effort at the adjusters, and Gold is built for cars where every gram is counted. The buckle and the webbing follow the job, so a Steel formula belt still gets the Formula buckle.
Reading a Sabelt part number
Sabelt’s part numbers look long, but most of them tell you what the belt is. Take the red Steel Rally 3×3. Once you know the pattern, you can read the points, the strap widths and the series straight off an invoice or a label.
The pattern holds for every coded Sabelt FIA harness. The Porsche, Enduro and Formula Mid belts use plain numbers (for example 2100165), so their codes carry no width or point information. Clubman road belts start CFCC90 instead.
If you have an older Sabelt harness or an old invoice, the name may not match the current catalogue. Sabelt dropped the Lightweight and Ultralight names and moved from CC codes to CFCI codes from their 2024 catalogue. This is how the old names line up with today’s, so you can match an old code to the belt that replaced it.

Scroll sideways on a phone. FHR only means the 2 inch shoulder straps are approved for use with a HANS or other FHR device only, under FIA 8853-2016.
Here are the same FIA belts by price, cheapest first, and the gap between the Steel and Silver versions of one layout shows what the aluminium adjusters cost.
Prices inc VAT from our live listings, lowest colour price where colours differ. The two Gold belts sit well off this scale: Gold Endurance £2,167.20 and Gold Superformula 6 £2,730.00.
GT and rally, 2 inch shoulders
Six belts for saloon, rally and GT cars where the driver wears a HANS or other FHR device. Four of them are car-specific: three for Porsche, and the Silver Enduro for endurance cars that change drivers. Our HANS specific 2 inch harness guide compares them with other makers.

Strap lengths
Sabelt publish standard measures for most of their belts, in millimetres. The letters follow Sabelt’s own drawing for each belt, so read them against the drawing in that harness’s gallery. Cameron uses these when a seat sits further back than usual, or the harness bar is a long way behind the seat, to check the straps will reach before anything is ordered.

Approvals and homologation
Four kinds of approval appear in the Sabelt range. The FIA ones are what a scrutineered event asks for, and each FIA belt carries its homologation number and a not-valid-after date on the label. Our guide to how long FIA harnesses last explains the dates.
| Approval | What it covers | Sabelt belts we list | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|---|
| FIA 8853-2016 | Six and eight point competition harnesses | 14 | 2 inch shoulder straps are approved for use with an FHR device only. Each label carries its own not-valid-after date. |
| FIA 8854-1998 | Four point competition harnesses | 3 | Sabelt’s Steel Four Point and both Kit Car belts share homologation B.122.T/98. |
| ECE 16 | Road approved Clubman belts | 5 | For road cars and track days. Not an FIA competition harness. |
| Not homologated | Track day belts | 2 | Sabelt list the 4 Point Caterham and the Silver 911 Passenger without homologation. |
i
The 2 inch rule
FIA 8853-2016 approves 2 inch shoulder straps for use with an FHR device only. Every 2 inch six point belt in this guide is made to sit on a HANS or similar device, and the 3 inch belts can be worn with or without one.
What changed for 2026
New: Silver Enduro
The Silver Enduro (CFCI46320005 in red) replaces the Silver Endurance, with the LPM buckle, an FHR grip panel and soft lap webbing. £458.98 inc VAT.
New: Gold LMH
Sabelt show a Gold LMH endurance harness in the 2026 catalogue. We do not list it yet, so ask us if you want one.
Gone from Sabelt’s range
The Silver LPM, the Silver Endurance and both SFI 16.1 harnesses. Their old pages on our site now point to the nearest current belt.
Renamed
Lightweight became Steel and Ultralight became Silver, with CFCI codes in place of the old CC codes. The table above maps every old name we used to list.
Steel or Silver? We do not agree
Cameron: For a rally car with a HANS I would spend the extra on the Silver Rally. The A2 adjusters weigh 70 g each against 94 g for the steel ones, and they pull tight with less effort when you are already belted in with gloves on. On a stage car you strap in over and over across a weekend.
Garreth: I would sell the Steel Rally all day. Same FIA 8853-2016 label, same B2 buckle, same snap hooks, and it is £194.40 less. For a club driver doing a handful of events a year, I would rather that money went on the seat.
Cameron: Fine for a club car. For endurance with driver changes I would go further than Silver Rally, to the Silver Enduro, because of the LPM buckle.
Garreth: That one I agree with, because Sabelt built it for driver changes. For a single seater, the Steel Formula Basic or Mid covers almost every club series we see.
Where we agree: settle the HANS question first, because it decides 2 inch or 3 inch, and only then pick the series.

Questions about Sabelt harnesses
What is the difference between Sabelt Steel, Silver and Gold harnesses?
The hardware. Steel belts have steel adjusters, Silver belts have aluminium quick release adjusters (70 g each on 2 inch webbing, against 94 g for steel), and Gold belts add titanium tongues and plates and Sabelt’s B6 or B7 buckle. The FIA approval depends on the layout of the belt, not the series.
Do Sabelt harnesses come with eye bolts?
Yes. Every Sabelt FIA harness comes with eye bolts. Backing plates are separate if your mounting points need them.
Which Sabelt harness works with a HANS device?
Any of the six point FIA belts: the 2 inch shoulder belts are approved for use with an FHR device only, and the 3 inch belts can be worn with or without one.
What colours do Sabelt harnesses come in?
Red, black or blue on every model. In Sabelt’s part numbers the digit after the prefix gives the colour: 4 is red, 2 is black and 1 is blue.
What replaced the Sabelt Lightweight Formula?
The Steel Formula Basic. Sabelt renamed it and gave it new part numbers: CFCI4350S622FU3F6 in red, CFCI2350S622FU3F6 in black and CFCI1350S622FU3F6 in blue. It is £244.80 inc VAT.
How long does a Sabelt FIA harness last?
Each FIA label carries its own not-valid-after date, and that date is what counts. Our guide to how long FIA harnesses last explains how to read it.
Which Sabelt harness fits a Caterham or a Westfield?
The Steel Kit Car is Sabelt’s C version for the Caterham and the Silver Kit Car is the W version for the Westfield, both FIA 8854-1998. The 4 Point Caterham is a road and track day belt without homologation.
Are Sabelt Clubman harnesses FIA approved?
No. The Clubman belts are approved to ECE 16 for road use, for road cars and track days. Events that ask for an FIA harness need one of the FIA belts.
Is the Sabelt 911 Passenger harness FIA approved?
No. Sabelt list it as not homologated. It is made for track day passengers in a caged Porsche 996 or 997.
What is the Sabelt Silver Enduro?
Sabelt’s 2026 endurance harness, which replaces the Silver Endurance. It has the LPM buckle with spring ejectors, an FHR grip panel and soft lap webbing, approved to FIA 8853-2016 under homologation SH.108.24-T-6. It is £458.98 inc VAT.
