The Sabelt Gold Super Formula 6 Point Harness, part number 393G622FU6F, is a bolt-in 6-point formula harness approved to FIA 8853-2016. Shoulder and lap webbing are 2 inch. Quick-release buckle. HANS friendly. Available in black, blue and red.

Gold is Sabelt’s premium webbing tier: lighter, more supple and stronger than Silver for the same approval. The quick-release buckle is the type standard in senior formula categories: a lever or cam mechanism the driver operates with one hand in the confined geometry of a formula cockpit. Some senior series regulations specify this buckle type.

HANS friendly at Gold level means the harness is designed to work with a HANS device while preserving the option not to use one, which some teams choose in test or development sessions. The FIA 8853-2016 approval is the same as the Steel and Silver formula harnesses.

At £2,275 this is the most expensive formula harness in the range. The Ultralight Super Formula (172525, £1,900) is the alternative: similar money, Ultralight webbing grade rather than Gold, with a different buckle. Both are for top-level single-seater use. Gold harnesses tend to be the preference in series that run Sabelt as the specified supplier; Ultralight Super is often chosen on weight grounds.

For club-level formula racing, the Steel Formula Mid (3500064, £204) or Silver Formula (50A622FU3F6, £280) meet FIA 8853-2016 requirements at a fraction of the cost.

How long does an FIA harness last?

Does it work with a HANS device?
Yes: only 6-point FIA harnesses work with a HANS device, and this belt qualifies. If you run a device, check whether you want the HANS-specific shoulder cut and ask us which suits your setup.

What does it mount to?
A harness needs proper anchor points: a harness bar, cage, or the car’s designed mounting points, plus a seat with the right slots. Tell us the car and seat and we will confirm the mounting plan before you order.
