The Sabelt Steel Race/Rally 3×3 6 Point Harness, part number CFCI1335S633S, is a clip-in 6-point competition harness approved to FIA 8853-2016. Shoulder webbing is 3 inch and lap webbing is 3 inch. Aircraft-type buckle. HANS friendly. Available in black, blue and red.

FIA 8853-2016 is the current 6-point harness standard used across UK club racing. The 3-inch shoulder and 3-inch lap combination is the widest webbing configuration in the Sabelt saloon harness range. Wider webbing distributes load over a greater area in an impact; some drivers find it more comfortable over a long stint, though it is heavier than the 2-inch versions.

Clip-in installation threads the shoulder straps around a bar or harness mounting point behind the seat rather than bolting to fixed eye bolts. This suits cars with a roll cage or a dedicated harness bar. If your car has fixed rear chassis anchor points, the bolt-in configuration of the Silver series may suit you better.

HANS friendly means the buckle and strap geometry are compatible with a HANS device. This harness is widely used in club racing where HANS devices are recommended but not always mandatory; if your series requires HANS specific certification, check the class regulations against this harness.

The Steel series is Sabelt’s entry competition tier. The Silver Race/Rally 3×3 (335A633SU2F) is the step up with lighter hardware in the same clip-in 3×3 configuration.

How long does an FIA harness last?
Every FIA harness carries a not-valid-after date on its label, and that date is what the scrutineer checks. Our guide on how long FIA harnesses last explains the labelling, and buying new gets you the freshest date available.

Does it work with a HANS device?
Yes: only 6-point FIA harnesses work with a HANS device, and this belt qualifies. If you run a device, check whether you want the HANS-specific shoulder cut and ask us which suits your setup.

What does it mount to?
A harness needs proper anchor points: a harness bar, cage, or the car’s designed mounting points, plus a seat with the right slots. Tell us the car and seat and we will confirm the mounting plan before you order.
