A Planted Technology seat bracket for the Toyota RAV4, fourth generation on the XA40 chassis, 2013 to 2018. Part number SB419.

The third generation takes SB421.

This is where the RAV4 stopped being interesting off road

Worth saying plainly. The XA40 dropped the side hinged tailgate and the external spare wheel and moved firmly towards being a road car. The third generation still had a following among people who took them green laning; this one largely does not.

So the realistic reason to fit a shell here is comfort and support on long drives, or replacing a collapsed original in a high mileage car.

Which means buy accordingly

Ask us about padded options or a reclining seat rather than a fixed racing bucket. A hard shell in a family SUV doing motorway miles is a decision you regret quickly.

Do I keep fore-and-aft adjustment?
Only with a sliding runner between the frame and the seat, which is a separate part on Planted frames. If more than one person drives the car, budget for the runner. Our guide to sliding runners explains the options and widths.

Is this for the driver or passenger side?
Both sides are available on this listing, pick driver or passenger side at the point of order (sides listed are for right-hand-drive cars). Left-hand-drive car? Ask us, as the sides swap over and availability varies by model.
