A Planted Technology seat bracket for the Saab 9-3, first generation, 1998 to 2002. Part number SB280.

This one is built on the old Saab 900 platform, which makes it a genuinely different car from the second generation that followed on General Motors underpinnings. Two cars, one name, two brackets.

The Viggen

Saab’s own performance division built it: 225 horsepower through the front wheels of a car that was not really ready for it, and the torque steer is legendary. Around 4,600 were made.

That torque steer is a real argument for a seat that holds you. In a car that pulls at the wheel under power, a driver bracing with their arms is fighting the car rather than steering it.

Parts

Saab is gone and nobody is making 9-3 interior trim. The bracket picks up the factory mounting points so the originals come out whole. Store them somewhere dry, because you will not replace them.

Side airbags are fitted. Handed, so order twice for a pair.
