A Planted Technology seat bracket for the Audi A3 hatchback, 2003 to 2013. Part number SB004.

The 8P generation. It sits on the PQ35 platform alongside the Mk5 Golf, which is worth knowing because it means far more parts cross over than the badge suggests, and because the OMP subframe for the same car shares its part number with the Golf frame.

The S3 is the one being built

Quick, heavy and four wheel drive, and the standard seat is built for comfort rather than for holding you. In a car that puts down that much torque through all four wheels, a driver bracing against the seat instead of steering the car is not getting the best out of it.

Watch the overlap year

The third generation A3 from 2012 takes a different bracket entirely, and the two overlap. If your car is a 2012 or 2013, send us the registration rather than going by the year, because that is where people order the wrong one.

Will this fit my car?
This frame is made for the Audi A3. Chassis code and years matter more than the badge, as floor pans change between generations, so if your car sits near a changeover year, send us the registration and we will confirm before you order.

Do I keep fore-and-aft adjustment?
Only with a sliding runner between the frame and the seat, which is a separate part on Planted frames. If more than one person drives the car, budget for the runner. Our guide to sliding runners explains the options and widths.
