The folding hard top changes the job

The E93 is the first 3 Series convertible with a folding metal roof, and the mechanism takes up a great deal of room behind the seats. That has two consequences.

Backrest angle and shell depth matter more than they would in a saloon, because there is less room to recline into. And the rollover protection system sits behind the rear seats and deploys upwards, which is worth understanding before anything gets moved or stored back there.
