What a folding hard top changes

The E93 is the first 3 Series convertible with a folding metal roof, and the mechanism takes a great deal of room behind the seats. Backrest angle and shell depth matter more than they would in a saloon, because there is less room to recline into.

The rollover protection system also sits behind the rear seats and deploys upwards, which is worth understanding before anything is moved or stored back there.
