What the seat change is for

Not height. The raised ride and seating position are the reason people buy one, so sitting lower is not usually the aim. What a competition shell gives you is being held in place on uneven ground, where the standard seat is soft and lets you move.

It is a car underneath rather than a proper off roader, so you have more freedom over the seat than you would in a Land Cruiser.
