A Planted Technology seat bracket for the Chevrolet Caprice, 2011 to 2017. Part number SB273.

This Caprice is the Holden Commodore, built in Australia and sold in North America almost entirely as a police vehicle. It is the same family as the Pontiac G8 and the Vauxhall VXR8.

Police specification changes what you are working with

These were not sold to the public. A retired one arrives with the interior already stripped about, holes drilled for equipment, and a driver’s seat that has been sat in by shift workers for a decade with a duty belt on. Column and console areas are often modified too.

So look properly at what is actually there before ordering, rather than assuming a standard interior. Send us a photograph under the seat if anything looks unusual.

A proper rear wheel drive chassis with a V8 in most, which is why people buy them cheap at auction and build them.
