A Planted Technology seat bracket for the Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac Firebird Trans Am, 1993 to 2002. Part number SB059.

From 1993 the two cars share a bracket, which they did not do in the previous generation. General Motors brought the seat mounting into line when they redesigned the F-body.

The LS1 cars

From 1998 these got the LS1, which is the engine that made the fourth generation genuinely quick and which is still the default cheap route to serious power. A 1998 onwards car is a different proposition from a 1993 LT1 car, and it is where most of the building happens.

The T-top question

A great many of these have removable roof panels. That affects headroom differently from a fixed roof car and it affects how much water gets in when the panels are off or leaking, which they do. If yours is a T-top, tell us and we will talk about trim as well as height.
