The S130, and it is a different car from the 260Z and 280Z that came before it despite the similar name. Those take the SB145 family. Check which you have.
The one the purists dislike
Nissan turned the Z into a grand tourer for this generation: heavier, softer, better equipped, with independent rear suspension and, from 1981, a turbo. Z purists have never quite forgiven it.
Which is exactly why they are the affordable classic Z, and why the people building them are building rather than restoring. If you want a Z to drive hard without worrying about the value, this is the one.
The T-bar cars
Many 280ZXs have removable roof panels, which costs rigidity and lets water in when the seals age. If yours is a T-bar, tell us and we will talk about trim as well as fit.

This frame is made for the Datsun/Nissan 280ZX (1978-1983). Chassis code and years matter more than the badge, as floor pans change between generations, so if your car sits near a changeover year, send us the registration and we will confirm before you order.

Do I keep fore-and-aft adjustment?
Only with a sliding runner between the frame and the seat, which is a separate part on Planted frames. If more than one person drives the car, budget for the runner. Our guide to sliding runners explains the options and widths.
