A Planted Technology seat bracket for the Audi RS6 on the C5 chassis, 2002 to 2004. Part number SB212.

The first RS6: twin turbo 4.2 V8 developed with Cosworth, four wheel drive, and around two tonnes of it. Audi built them for two years only.

What that weight means for this decision

Nobody is fitting a competition seat to a C5 RS6 to save weight. It will not register. What changes is that you stop moving about, and in a car that carries this much speed with this much grip, you move about more than the plush interior leads you to expect.

Be clear about that before you spend, because it is the only honest reason to do it.

The Recaros

The C5 RS6 came with Recaro seats as standard and they are part of what a good one is worth now. Values on these have started to move after twenty years of being cheap. Store them and their fixings somewhere dry and label them, and note a factory Recaro will not bolt to standard side mounts.
