A Planted Technology seat bracket for the Toyota Hilux, fifth generation, 1988 to 1995, excluding bench seat models. Part number SB300.

Read the exclusion. If your Hilux has a bench, this is not your bracket. Look at what is actually in the truck rather than the original specification, because these are old enough that plenty have been changed.

Toyota Pickup and Hilux are the same vehicle under different names for different markets.

Which divided opinion permanently. The fifth generation moved the four wheel drive versions to IFS, improving the ride and the on road manners at the cost of articulation. The fourth generation kept the solid axle and takes SB369.

If you are building for serious off road use, that distinction matters more than anything about the seat.

Practical

These are workhorses that are still working, and the original seat has usually given up. Ask us about neoprene trim if the truck earns its keep.

Which Hilux generation does this bracket fit?
This bracket is made for the fifth generation Toyota Hilux and Pickup, built between 1988 and 1995. Later generations, including the sixth generation built from 1997 to 2005, use different floor points, and we do not currently list a direct fit seat bracket for them from Planted Technology, OMP or Cobra. If your truck falls outside 1988 to 1995, send us the registration so we can confirm before you order.

Check the bolt pattern in the specification against your seat. The Compatible seats tab above lists what bolts straight on. If your seat is not listed, tell us what you run and we will confirm the fit.

Do I keep fore-and-aft adjustment?
Only with a sliding runner between the frame and the seat, which is a separate part on Planted frames. If more than one person drives the car, budget for the runner. Our guide to sliding runners explains the options and widths.

Is this for the driver or passenger side?
Both sides are available on this listing, pick driver or passenger side at the point of order (sides listed are for right-hand-drive cars). Left-hand-drive car? Ask us, as the sides swap over and availability varies by model.
