It beat the Mustang by a fortnight

Plymouth launched the Barracuda in April 1964, sixteen days before Ford launched the Mustang, and then watched the Mustang take the entire market. That is most of the first generation Barracuda’s story and it is why so few people know the car exists.

Underneath it is a Valiant with an enormous wraparound rear window, which was the largest piece of glass fitted to a production car at the time.

Not the car people picture

The 1970 to 1974 E-body is what most people mean by Cuda and it takes SB221. The two share nothing but the name.

Practical

Sixty years old, and these were cheap cars that few people bothered to save. Get the carpet up and look properly at the metal round the mounting points, and expect repair panels.
