The second generation, and the last one to offer the turbocharged four wheel drive combination that made the first generation interesting. After this, Mitsubishi dropped it.
Which is why this generation is worth building
The GSX and the Talon TSi kept the 4G63 turbo and the four wheel drive system. They are the cars people chase, and they are quick enough that the standard seat becomes the limit early. The naturally aspirated front wheel drive versions are a different proposition entirely.
Getting the generation right
Four generations of Eclipse exist and none of them share a bracket. 1989 to 1994 is SB048, this is SB236, 2000 to 2005 is SB118 and 2006 to 2012 is SB105. Send us the registration if you are near a boundary year.
Practical notes
These are thirty years old and were never expensive. Lift the carpet and look at the metal round the mounting points before you spend, because a bracket can only feed seat load into sound structure.

Do I keep fore-and-aft adjustment?
Only with a sliding runner between the frame and the seat, which is a separate part on Planted frames. If more than one person drives the car, budget for the runner. Our guide to sliding runners explains the options and widths.
