A Planted Technology seat bracket for the Mazda MX-5 on the NA chassis, 1989 to 1997. Part number SB101.
This is the standard height version. There is also a low version under SB245, and on an NA that choice matters a great deal.
Which height you want
An NA is small inside and the standard seating position is high relative to the screen. If you are tall, or you wear a helmet, or the car has a roll bar, the low bracket is almost certainly what you need.
The standard height suits a shorter driver, or a road car where you want to keep the eye line you are used to. Tell us your height and how the car is used and we will recommend one honestly rather than let you guess.
Weight is the point of the car
An NA is around 950kg and that is the entire basis of how it drives. A heavy steel framed shell gives back a real slice of it, so ask us about the lighter GRP and composite options.
Practical
NAs rust round the sills and floors, and thirty five year old ones deserve a proper look with the carpet up before you spend.
