The range spans two completely different vehicles

At one end, a comfortable road biased four wheel drive that tows and does school runs. At the other, the SRT with the 6.4 Hemi and the Trackhawk with the supercharged 6.2, which is one of the fastest accelerating production SUVs ever built.

Those want opposite seats. A Trackhawk being used properly generates cornering loads that a comfortable leather armchair simply cannot resist. A diesel Overland does not.

If it genuinely goes off road

Ask us about neoprene trim rather than velour. Fabric absorbs water and mud and never really recovers, and a Grand Cherokee used as intended sees plenty of both.

The electronics are substantial

Powered adjustment in several planes, memory, heating, ventilation on some specifications, side airbags and occupancy sensing. Removing a seat is a wiring job as much as a mechanical one, and doing it badly will put warnings on the dashboard that are awkward to clear.
