The MD, which in some markets wore the Avante name. The sixth generation takes SB356.

The fifth generation Elantra has a torsion beam rear end and was built to a price. It is not a sporting car and there is no version of it that is. Nobody is taking one to a track day expecting much.

So the realistic reasons to fit a shell are a cheap first drift or track car where nobody minds what happens to it, or a high mileage car where the original seat has collapsed and a supportive replacement is a genuine daily improvement.
