The S197, the retro shaped one. Two quite different cars wear that badge across those years: the 2005 to 2010 cars have the 4.6 litre modular V8, and from 2011 Ford fitted the 5.0 Coyote, which changed the car’s character completely. Both take this bracket. The S550 from 2015 does not, so order on the year.
The live axle is why the seat matters
An S197 keeps a solid rear axle right through the run. On a rough circuit the back end moves in a way an independent car’s does not, and the standard seat lets you move with it. That is tiring and it costs you accuracy, and it is the usual reason people change the seat before anything else in the interior.
If yours is a Boss 302 or a GT500
From 2012 those could be specified with Recaro seats, and they are good. Tell us what you have before you spend, because there are owners who would be better keeping them. Note that a factory Recaro will not bolt to standard side mounts, since Recaro use their own arrangement.

Will this fit my car?
This frame is made for the Ford Mustang (2005-2014). Chassis code and years matter more than the badge, as floor pans change between generations, so if your car sits near a changeover year, send us the registration and we will confirm before you order.

Check the bolt pattern in the specification against your seat. The Compatible seats tab above lists what bolts straight on. If your seat is not listed, tell us what you run and we will confirm the fit.
Do I keep fore-and-aft adjustment?
Only with a sliding runner between the frame and the seat, which is a separate part on Planted frames. If more than one person drives the car, budget for the runner. Our guide to sliding runners explains the options and widths.
Is this for the driver or passenger side?
Both sides are available on this listing, pick driver or passenger side at the point of order (sides listed are for right-hand-drive cars). Left-hand-drive car? Ask us, as the sides swap over and availability varies by model.
