A Planted Technology seat bracket for the Chevrolet Sonic, 2012 onwards. Part number SB181.

Sold in some markets as the Aveo, and closely related to the Opel and Vauxhall small cars of the period.

The RS is the one

General Motors put the 1.4 turbo into the Sonic RS with a manual gearbox and firmer suspension, and it is a considerably better car than the badge suggests. There is a small following for them in cheap club racing in America.

Space and weight are both constraints

A Sonic is small inside and there is not much between the door card and the console, so shell width matters as much as the bracket does. It is also light, which means a heavy steel framed shell gives back a real slice of what makes it quick.

Tell us your height and build and ask us about the lighter GRP options. On a car like this the money is better spent on a sensible shell and good tyres than on the most expensive seat we stock.

Side airbags are fitted. Handed, so order twice for a pair.

Only with a sliding runner between the frame and the seat, which is a separate part on Planted frames. If more than one person drives the car, budget for the runner. Our guide to sliding runners explains the options and widths.
