Why G-bodies are worth building
They are rear wheel drive, body on frame, and light for an American car of the era, which makes them one of the best value routes to a serious V8 build. The Monte Carlo SS with the aero nose is the one with the NASCAR association and the following that comes with it.
Because the platform was shared so widely, mechanical parts are plentiful and cheap, which is unusual for a car this old.
What people build them for
Drag racing, mostly, and street builds with a great deal more engine than the car left with. Once there is real power in one, the standard bench or bucket stops being adequate, and a car that launches hard needs you held rather than sliding.
Practical
Forty year old G-body floors deserve a proper look with the carpet up. Repair panels are common.

Do I keep fore-and-aft adjustment?
