What the B8 S4 is

Audi dropped the V8 for this generation and fitted a supercharged 3.0 V6, which is lighter over the front axle and considerably more usable than the engine it replaced. It also gained the optional sport differential, which genuinely changes how the car behaves on the exit of a corner.

Why the seat matters here

It is heavy and it generates a great deal of grip. Nobody fits a shell to a B8 S4 for weight, because it will not register on the scales. What changes is that you stop moving about when the car is loaded up, which happens sooner than the comfortable interior suggests.
