Identifying a B7 is the hard part
It is a facelift of the B6 rather than a new car and it only ran about three years, so a great many owners do not know which they have. The two chassis take different brackets and they look extremely similar from the outside. Work from the registration, not from the year or the shape.
The seat type splits these too
Some A4s of this era are separated by whether the car has powered or manual seats, because the motors change the floor arrangement. Look under the seat before ordering and tell us what you find.
The B7 RS4
The 4.2 V8 RS4 is this generation and it came with Recaro bucket seats as standard. They are excellent and worth real money, and a factory Recaro will not bolt to standard side mounts because Recaro use their own arrangement. If yours has them, tell us before you spend anything.
