The OMP BMW F80 M3 direct Fit Subframes is a seat fitting frame from OMP Racing, supplied from stock. A fitting frame is the vehicle-specific base that bolts to the floor mounting points in place of the standard seat runners. The seat then mounts to the frame, either directly or on side mounts. Getting the frame right is what decides your final seat height and how far back you can sit.

Choosing the right seat fitting frame

A fitting frame is the vehicle-specific base that bolts to the floor mounting points in place of the standard seat runners. The seat then mounts to the frame, either directly or on side mounts. Getting the frame right is what decides your final seat height and how far back you can sit.

Frames bolt to the factory seat mounting points, so no drilling is needed on a standard floor. Torque the floor bolts properly and check seat belt buckle clearance before you drive it, because a bucket seat often sits the buckle somewhere new.

We have been supplying motorsport kit since 2003, so if you are unsure between two options, ask. It saves everyone the hassle of a return.

What to check before you order

Most returns come down to one of a handful of details. These are the ones that matter on this seat fitting frame.

  • Brand: OMP Racing. Check this against what you already run before ordering.
  • Sport Seat Position: RHD Driver Side, RHD Passenger Side. Check this against what you already run before ordering.

If any of it does not match what you have, ask us before you buy. We would rather answer a question than process a return.

Buying the OMP BMW F80 M3 direct Fit Subframes from SportSeats4u

Stock is shown live on this page. If you need the OMP BMW F80 M3 direct Fit Subframes for a specific event date, tell us when you order and we will confirm the lead time up front.

We have been in the motorsport trade since 2003, supplying club racers, race teams and workshops across the UK and exporting worldwide. That means the advice you get on fitment comes from people who use this kit, not from a spec sheet someone copied over.

If you are a workshop, race team or retailer, get in touch about a trade account. If you are buying for yourself and you are torn between two options, call us. Five minutes on the phone usually settles it.

Delivery, returns and fitment support

UK orders go out on a tracked service and we ship worldwide. If an order is going to an event rather than a home address, put the delivery date you need in the order notes and we will work to it.

On returns, unused items in original packaging can come back to us. Safety equipment is the exception worth knowing about: once a helmet, harness or suit has been used, we cannot resell it, so check sizing and approval carefully before you commit. Made-to-order and custom-finish items are built to your spec and are not returnable, which is exactly why we would rather talk it through first.

If you want the OMP BMW F80 M3 direct Fit Subframes checked against your car, your seat or the regulations you compete under, send us the details and we will confirm it. Registration number, chassis number, or the make and model of what you already run is usually enough to settle it.

OMP BMW F80 M3 direct Fit Subframes questions

Will the OMP BMW F80 M3 direct Fit Subframes fit my seat?

The frame mounts to the car. Whether your seat bolts straight to it depends on the seatโ€™s mounting pattern, so check whether you need side mounts as well. Send us the seat make and model if you want it confirmed.

Does it lower the seating position?

Most fitting frames sit the seat lower than the standard seat and runners. Exactly how much depends on the seat and whether you run side mounts or bottom mounts.

Can I keep the standard seat belt?

Usually yes, though the buckle position often changes. Check the buckle sits where you can reach it and is not fouled by the seat before using the car.

Do I need runners as well?

Only if you want fore and aft adjustment. Many frames accept a slider between the frame and the seat. Ask us if you need the seat to move.

Not sure the OMP BMW F80 M3 direct Fit Subframes is the right choice? Send us your car details or what you compete in and we will confirm before you order.

Bolt point tolerances:

Please note that OMP, Sparco and various other brands have a +/- 10mm tolerance on the bolt point locations on each of their sub-frames. This means that when installing the equipment into your vehicle, you may find that one or more of the bolt points may need extending for a perfect fit.

This is normal and, when installed by a skilled professional, it may only add five minutes to the total installation time. A prime example is the OMP Renault Clio MK3 frames and the BMW E46 frames as two bolt points need extending by 5mm in 75% of installations.

Drilling of frames and equipment may be required to complete your installation.

Matching seats and frames:

There are over half a dozen different bolt patterns in the industry for base mounted seats. There are over 30 different bolt patterns for side mounted seats. Aftermarket frames from different brands will have different bolt location points.ย

Seats and frames are not a direct fit between brands. Seat frames are also not suitabled for OEM seats (Fitted into a vehicle from the factory) Please ensure to contact us for professional advice before purchasing your seat frames. We will be able to provide you a recommendation as to which seat frame is right for which seat.ย

Seat subframe and fitting equipment guide

A subframe is the part that bolts to your car’s original seat mounting points and gives the seat something to fix to. It is car specific, so the first thing to get right is the make, model and year. The second is which side of the car it is for.

Most subframes are handedOf the fitting equipment we stock, the large majority are listed as either RHD driver side or RHD passenger side. They are mirror images and they will not swap over. Ordering a pair when you only need one, or the wrong side when you need one, is the most common mistake in this category.

Order in this sequence

1Confirm the seat fixing typeSide mount or base mount. It is on every seat product page and it decides everything after it.
2Find the subframe for your carMake, model and year. Our subframes are vehicle specific, not universal.
3Pick the right sideDriver or passenger. Most are handed and they are not interchangeable.
4Add brackets if neededA side mount seat needs side mounts as well as the subframe. A base mount seat may not.

Buying the subframe first is how people end up with parts that will not go together. The seat decides the fixing type, the fixing type decides the brackets, and the car decides the subframe. Work down that chain rather than up it.

Material

Material What it means
Steel The standard. Strong and well priced
Aluminium Lighter, and usually the higher priced option
Titanium Lightest of the three. Specialist, and priced accordingly

For almost every road and track day car, steel is the sensible answer. Aluminium and titanium are worth it where you are chasing weight in a competition car and the regulations allow, and the saving on a pair of subframes is smaller than people expect.

Sliding and fixed

Some subframes are sliding, with the runner mechanism built in, and some are fixed. A sliding subframe is one part rather than a subframe plus separate runners, which is tidier and usually lower. A fixed subframe puts the seat where you bolt it and nowhere else, which is lighter, stiffer and fine if only you drive the car.

If two people share the car, look for a sliding subframe before you look at adding runners on top of a fixed one, because stacking a runner on a subframe raises the seat twice.

Bolt pattern

Where a subframe lists a fixing bolt pattern it will be 291 mm or 345 mm wide. That is the span across the seat’s mounting rails, and it is the same measurement that decides which sliding runner handle you need. If you already know your runner width, you know your bolt pattern.

What the subframe does and does not include

A subframe gets you from the car’s floor to a mounting plane. It does not usually include the side mount brackets that connect a side mount seat to it, and it does not include the seat. Check the product for what is in the box, and read our seat mounting and fixing points guide if you are not sure what else you need.

Check the height before you commitEvery layer you add lifts you: subframe, then runners, then brackets. In a car with a cage and a helmet that is the constraint that bites. If you are tall, work out your total stack height before ordering, and favour a sliding subframe or a low profile bracket over stacking parts.

Cars we cover

The range runs to well over a thousand parts across PCI Racing, Planted Technology, SW Motorsports, M2 Motorsport, Sparco, OMP, Recaro, Corbeau, Cobra and Endurance, covering most common performance cars and a lot of uncommon ones. Search your car rather than browsing, and if you cannot find it, ring us, because we can often get a subframe made for something that is not listed.

Send us the car and the seatMake, model, year, which side, and the seat you have chosen. We will tell you exactly which subframe and brackets you need, and whether a sliding one would suit you better. Call 0115 989 3488 or email Sales@GSMPerformance.co.uk.

All specifications read from our own product data for the fitting equipment categories, checked 2 August 2026.
