Honda Integra DC5 Bucket Seat Guide
The Honda Integra DC5 (2001 to 2006)
The DC5 is one of the few cars where we stock three genuinely different ways of mounting a seat rather than the usual two. That is worth knowing before you spend anything.
It is also where it goes wrong most often, because the kit you buy decides which half of the seat catalogue is open to you. Putting those combinations together is what I do here, so what follows is the order I would work through it in. I am Cameron, for the record.
- Eight fitting products listed, all in stock
- Three routes: PCI, M2 or Planted
- M2 converts from side mount to base mount with adaption bars
- Everything is priced and supplied per side
Start here, side mount or base mount
Every fitting kit on this page is one or the other. Work out which one you want before you look at a single seat.
Side mount
The seat is held by its sides, on brackets that bolt through the holes in the shell. That is how every FIA fixed back bucket mounts. It sits you lowest and it is the stiffest way to hold a seat. On a DC5 that means the PCI kits or the M2 frames.
Base mount
The seat sits on top of a frame and bolts down through its underside. Every reclining sport seat mounts this way. On a DC5 that means the Planted bracket, or the M2 frame with adaption bars on top of it.
The three routes, and which one to take
PCI Racing
A complete side mount kit that bolts to the factory seat mounting points and comes with the side mounts and the bolt pack. Choose the adjustable mount for a fixed position, or the sliding sub frame if the car gets shared. This is the tidiest answer if you have settled on a fixed back bucket.
M2 Motorsport
A direct fit side mount frame, and the only one here that converts. Add the M2 to base mount adaption bars and the same frame will take a reclining seat instead. Worth it if you are undecided, or if the car might go back to a recliner later.
Planted Technology
A base mount bracket that takes OMP, Corbeau, Cobra, Recaro, Sparco and Sabelt base mount seats, and keeps the original seat belt clip buckle. Pair it with universal side mounts if you want a side mounted seat on it, or universal runners if you want it to slide.

Bucket seats for the DC5
These all mount from the side, so they suit the PCI kits or the M2 frame without adaption bars. There is a spread of brands and price points here rather than a ranking.

The Grid Q is the value pick and it is a genuinely good shell for the money. The Evo QRT is the one people move to, lighter and better shaped through the shoulders. Both are FIA 8855-1999.

The Champ-R is the one to have if the car sees track days, deeper leg bolsters and it holds you under braking. The ARS-R is the wider option, rated to a 38 inch waist, which is worth knowing because most of this list is not.

The RS2 3D and the RS1 3D are the two we sell most of. The 3D fabric does not get slippery once it warms up and both suit a car that is still doing road miles as well as track days.

The Pole Position with ABE is the seat everyone wants and it does fit. It is also the most expensive thing on this list by a distance. Worth it if you are keeping the car.

The Monaco Pro is steel framed, HANS friendly and has been our best selling bucket for years. It mounts from the side or the base, which makes it the most flexible seat on this page.

The GT3 is the one to look at if you want something a bit different from the usual four. Fibreglass shell, FIA 8855-1999, and it suits all heights rather than being a short driver seat.

Any side mounted seat in the range will physically bolt to the PCI or M2 kit, and there is a lot more in the catalogue than the seats shown here. We have picked a spread of brands and price points to show what the car takes. If you have your eye on something else, or you are between sizes, tell us the seat and we will check it against your DC5 before you order.
Reclining seats for the DC5
Recliners need a base mount, so that means the Planted bracket or the M2 frame with the adaption bars on top. Remember the Cobra bolt pattern note above if you are going down the Misano route.
The Auto Style pair are the sensible way in. The Sparco R100 Martini is the one people buy on looks and do not regret. The Cobra Misano Anniversary is the expensive answer and it is a genuinely lovely seat to sit in. There is more in our reclining sport seats category.

Driver fit at a glance
Waist and height ratings are the manufacturer fit guidance we hold against each seat. They are a starting point, not a promise. Where a figure is not published we have left it out rather than guess. If you are near the edge of a range, ring us.

Cages and harnesses
Roll cages
Custom Cages make two multipoint cages for the DC5, one in CDS and one in T45. If the car is going to be scrutineered, tell us which championship and which regulations before you order.
Harnesses
A 4 point is the usual answer for a fast road DC5. If the car has a cage and a fixed back bucket, go to a 6 point and use the sub belt mounting points in the PCI base.

These are the harnesses we sell most of. The right answer depends on whether the car has a cage, how many mounting points you have to work with, and whether you are running a HANS device. Tell us the setup and we will spec it properly.
Common questions about DC5 seats
Will a bucket seat pass an MOT in a DC5?
Yes, as long as it is securely mounted to the floor and the seat belt still works as it was designed to. The Planted bracket keeps the original seat belt clip buckle, which makes that a shorter conversation at the test station.
Can I fit a reclining seat on the M2 frame?
Yes, with the M2 to base mount adaption bars. The frame on its own is side mount only. That pairing is the reason a lot of people pick M2 over PCI on this car.
Why do Cobra seats need the Planted bracket?
Cobra recliners and Cobra base mount buckets use a 291mm wide bolt pattern that only works with Cobra runners. The Planted bracket has a three bolt pattern that includes that 291mm spacing, so it takes them without any adapting.
Do I need two fitting kits for two seats?
Yes. Everything on this page is priced and supplied per side, so a pair of seats means a driver side kit and a passenger side kit.
Does the PCI kit include the side mounts?
Yes. The adjustable seat mount comes with the frame, a set of side mounts and the full bolt pack. You only need to add the seat.
Which seats will not fit?
Very few, but XL shells are worth checking before you order. Ring us with the seat you want and we will confirm the mounting width against the kit you are buying.
