Not an M car, and that changes the sums
The M240i is the quick 2 Series rather than the M2, and its seats are ordinary sport seats rather than the expensive items an M car carries. That makes the decision to fit a bucket a good deal easier: you are not setting aside several thousand pounds of factory seat to do it.
It also means the standard seat is a weaker starting point, so the improvement from a proper shell is larger here than on the M2.
Plenty of engine for the seat to matter
The turbocharged six gives this car more pace than the chassis flatters, and it is quick enough that a driver ends up bracing against the door card and the transmission tunnel. That is the thing a bucket removes.

HC848 covers the F22, M2, F87, E92 M3, F80 M3 and 1 Series E87. It is the same frame across all of them, so the same compatibility information applies to every listing.

Steel, base mount, using the floor mounting points already in the car, so nothing is drilled.
Two bolt patterns: 345mm by 271mm for Sparco, OMP and Corbeau seats, 405mm by 290mm for Recaro. Sold singly. The left and right (driver and passenger) frames are the same design and fitment, so they are interchangeable. Order twice for a pair.
Will this fit my car?
The OMP HC848 frame is the same part across the BMW 1 Series E87, E92 M3, F22, M2, M240i, F87 and F80 M3, so the same compatibility information applies to all of them. If you are unsure, send us the registration and we will confirm before you order.
Which seats does it take?
It takes seats drilled 345mm x 271mm (the Sparco and OMP seat pattern) and 405mm x 290mm (the Recaro seat pattern). If your seat is not listed, tell us what you run and we will confirm the fit.
Do I keep fore-and-aft adjustment?
Only with a sliding runner between the frame and the seat, which is a separate part on OMP frames. If more than one person drives the car, budget for the runner. Our guide to sliding runners explains the options and widths.
Base mount or side mount, and does it matter?
This is a base-mount frame: the seat bolts down through its base, the simpler stack that suits seats with a flat bottom and keeps the install low-fuss. Our guide on base mount versus side mount explains the whole fitting stack.
Is this for the driver or passenger side?
The left and right (driver and passenger) frames are the same design and fitment, so they are interchangeable. Pick either side at the point of order and order twice for a pair of seats. Left-hand-drive car? The same frames work, just ask if you would like us to confirm.
