A Planted Technology seat bracket for the Toyota Hilux, third generation on the N30 and N40 chassis, 1978 to 1983. Part number SB409.

The generation that got four wheel drive

Toyota added a proper four wheel drive version to the Hilux for this generation, which is where the vehicle’s reputation actually starts. Before that it was a workaday two wheel drive pickup.

That makes the surviving four wheel drive N30 and N40 trucks the historically interesting ones, and values on good examples have moved a long way as people rediscover small classic pickups.

Which changes the approach

The bracket picks up the factory mounting points so nothing is cut and the original seats come out whole. On a truck that might be restored properly one day that is the right call. Store them somewhere dry.

Practical

Forty five year old pickup floors that have carried loads deserve a serious look with the mat up before you spend anything.
