A Planted Technology seat bracket for the Mitsubishi Galant, sixth generation, 1987 to 1993. Part number SB282.

This is where the Evo came from

The sixth generation Galant gave us the VR-4: four wheel drive, four wheel steering and a turbocharged 4G63. Mitsubishi built it to homologate for Group A rallying, and when the regulations moved on they put the same drivetrain into a smaller Lancer body and called it the Evolution.

So a Galant VR-4 is the direct ancestor of every Evo, and it uses the engine that ran through to the Evo 9.

Which makes them worth keeping

Good VR-4s are scarce and appreciating, and parts are getting hard. The bracket picks up the factory mounting points so nothing is cut and the original seats come out whole. Store them somewhere dry.

Practical

Thirty five years old and Japanese. Get the carpet up and look at the metal round the mounting points before you spend anything.
