Four wheel drive changes the argument

Unlike the Mazdaspeed 3, which sends everything through the front wheels and is famous for what that does to the steering, the 6 puts its 2.3 turbo through all four. That means it puts the power down cleanly and carries far more speed through a corner.

Which is precisely why the seat matters here. The torque steer problem is gone, so what limits you is grip, and high grip is what loads you sideways in the seat. A standard 6 seat is a saloon seat.

Rarity

Mazda built relatively few and they were never sold in large numbers here. Interior parts are getting hard to find, so keep the originals whole and store them somewhere dry.

Side airbags are fitted. Handed, so order twice for a pair.
