A Planted Technology seat bracket for the BMW 3 Series on the E30 chassis, 1982 to 1991. Part number SB034.

Nine years on one bracket, which tells you how little BMW changed the E30 floor across the run.

Values have changed what this job is

E30s were cheap for a very long time and they are not any more. An M3 is in another bracket entirely, and even an ordinary 325i in good condition now attracts money. That makes originality matter in a way it did not ten years ago.

This bracket picks up the factory mounting points so nothing is cut. If the car has Recaro sports seats, they are worth money on their own, so store them and every fixing somewhere dry and label them rather than letting them go with the car.

The floor check is not optional on an E30

These rust, and the areas that go include the floors, the jacking points and the seams round the seat mounting. Get the carpet up and look properly before you spend anything. If it is soft, get the metal sorted first, because a bracket can only feed seat load into sound structure.
