What makes an EG worth building
Double wishbone suspension front and rear, which Honda fitted to an ordinary hatchback and nobody else did. That is why an EG still handles better than it has any right to thirty years on, and it is why people keep building them.
It is also very light. A heavy steel framed shell gives back a genuinely significant slice of that, so ask us about the lighter GRP and composite options rather than defaulting to the cheapest steel seat.
The driving position
An EG sits you high and upright with a lot of glass around you. Getting down is the change you feel first, more so than in most cars of the period, and it makes a real difference to how the car feels through a corner.
Practical
These rust and have usually been modified by several previous owners. Get the carpet up and check the metal round all four mounting points before you spend.
