Luke is Corbeau’s racing division, which explains a lot about how this range works. Established in 1975, still sewn in Sussex with straight stitch methods and no interest in mass production. The bit that confuses people is that nothing badged Luke is FIA approved, and the FIA harnesses that Luke make are badged Corbeau. Once you know that, the range reads straight down.
Nothing carrying the Luke name is FIA homologated. The FIA harnesses in this range are the four Corbeau Ultima Pro 6 point belts at £220 to £240. Luke is the road, fast road and track half, Corbeau Ultima Pro is the scrutineered half, and both come out of the same workshop.
Corbeau’s racing division, sewn in Sussex
Luke Racing Systems was set up in 1975 to make motorsport harnesses the traditional way, and that is still the pitch. Straight stitch sewing methods only, in a workshop in Sussex, with mass production deliberately off the agenda.
The part that matters commercially is that Luke sits inside the Corbeau Motorsport group and is described in our own listings as Corbeau’s racing division. That is why a Corbeau harness and a Luke harness feel like relatives, and why the FIA belts in this category carry the Corbeau name.
The ranges climb in a straight line: GMax at the bottom for specials and track day cars, GHR as the general purpose range, Professional above that with the classic rotary release box, Pro-Lite as the same harness with alloy adjusters, and the Corbeau Ultima Pro at the top with FIA homologation and a magnesium alloy release box.

Six things to recognise
Five Luke ranges and one Corbeau one, and the jump between each is small enough to be worth understanding.
01GMax
The entry range, £78.50 to £92.50. 50mm webbing, bolt on fixings all round, aimed at specials and track day cars where FIA homologation is not required. Includes the historic lap belt.
02GHR
The General Harness Range, £80 to £125, in 2, 3 and 4 point. Certified webbing and the same buckle as the range above. Built for everyday use, motorsport, show cars and specialist applications.
03Professional
The Pro Harness Range, £90 to £145, in 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 point, with the classic rotary action release box. Not EEC or FIA approved, and described as Road and MOT legal.
04Pro-Lite
The same Professional harness with alloy adjusters as standard, £150 to £170. That is £15 to £25 over the standard version depending on the number of points.
05Caterham and Westfield
Cut to bespoke lengths for the car with bolt down fixings, not a saloon belt relabelled. Pro versions £129 to £165 in 50mm or 75mm, GMax versions £92.50.
06Corbeau Ultima Pro
The FIA end, £220 to £240. Four 6 point belts to FIA 8853-2016, head restraint specific, on lightweight webbing with aluminium adjusters and a magnesium alloy release box.
Four questions, and the first one is about a badge
Work out which half of the range you are in and the rest is a short conversation.
Do you need an FIA homologation?
If yes, you are looking at the four Corbeau Ultima Pro 6 point belts at £220 to £240, because nothing badged Luke in this range carries one. They are FIA 8853-2016, head restraint specific, and they use lightweight webbing with aluminium adjusters and a magnesium alloy release box. If no, everything else on this page is open to you and the money drops a long way, because the Professional 4 point is £135 and the GMax Caterham is £92.50.
Which tier, and how much do you actually need?
GMax at £78.50 to £92.50 is 50mm webbing and bolt on fixings, and it is honestly enough for a lot of track day cars. GHR at £80 to £125 is the general purpose range. Professional at £90 to £145 gets you the classic rotary action release box, which is the thing people notice, and goes up to 6 point. The gaps are small, so buy on the release box and the number of points rather than on the badge.
Standard or Pro-Lite?
Pro-Lite is the same harness with alloy adjusters as standard, and Luke are open that this is the difference. A Professional 4 point is £135 and the Pro-Lite is £150, the 5 point is £140 against £160 and the 6 point is £145 against £170. So £15 to £25 for lighter and smoother adjusters, on identical components and webbing. If the belt gets adjusted a lot, it is money well spent. If it goes on once a year, it is not.
Is it a Caterham, a Westfield or something else?
If it is either of those, buy the version made for it. Our listings say the straps are cut to bespoke lengths and the fixings are bolt down, so these are genuinely different products rather than a relabelled saloon belt. You then choose 50mm or 75mm webbing, which is about £30. In a tight cockpit plenty of drivers prefer the 50mm, and the whole GMax range is 50mm anyway.
The Luke and Corbeau thing throws people constantly. Somebody rings up asking for a Luke FIA harness and there is not one, because the FIA belts Luke make go out with Corbeau on the label. Same workshop in Sussex, same people, same stitching. So if you want the homologation, ask for a Corbeau Ultima Pro. And if you do not, a Professional 4 point at a hundred and thirty five quid with that rotary box on it is a lovely thing for the money.

Who are Luke?▾

Because Luke make them. Every FIA harness in this range is a Corbeau Ultima Pro 6 Point, FIA 8853-2016, head restraint specific, £220 to £240. Nothing badged Luke carries an FIA homologation. That is not a mistake in our categories, it is how the two brands split: Luke for road, fast road and track, Corbeau Ultima Pro when a scrutineer is involved.
What is the difference between GMax, GHR and Professional?▾
They are three tiers, all made in the same workshop. GMax is the entry range at £78.50 to £92.50, 50mm webbing, bolt on fixings, aimed at specials and track day cars. GHR, the General Harness Range, is £80 to £125 in 2, 3 and 4 point. The Professional or Pro Harness Range is £90 to £170 and runs from 2 point to 6 point with the classic rotary action release box. All use certified webbing and none of them are FIA homologated.
What does Pro-Lite add?▾
Alloy adjusters as standard, and Luke say so directly. A Professional 4 point is £135 and the Pro-Lite version is £150. The 5 point is £140 against £160 and the 6 point £145 against £170. So it is £15 to £25 for the lighter adjusters, on the same harness with the same components and the same certified webbing. Worth it if you are chasing weight or you adjust the belt often, and easy to skip if not.
Are the Pro harnesses road legal?▾
Our listings describe them as not EEC or FIA approved but Road and MOT legal, which is the position a lot of track day drivers need. If you want a formal road seat belt approval, the Willans Supersport range is ECE No. 16 from £76.45 and the TRS Clubman is ECE 16.08 from £67.50. If you want FIA, the Corbeau Ultima Pro belts in this range are the answer.
Are the Caterham and Westfield belts really different?▾
Yes. Our listings say the straps are cut to bespoke lengths for the car and the fixings are bolt down, so they are not a saloon belt with a different label. The Caterham Pro is £132.50 in 50mm and £165 in 75mm, the Westfield Pro £129 and £157.50, and there are GMax versions of both at £92.50.
50mm or 75mm webbing?▾
On the Caterham and Westfield Pro belts you get the choice and it is about £30. 75mm spreads the load over a wider area and is what most people picture when they think of a race harness. 50mm is lighter, less bulky in a tight cockpit, and is what the whole GMax range uses. In a Caterham or a Westfield the cockpit is tight enough that plenty of drivers prefer the 50mm.
Do you do a lap belt for a classic?▾
The GMax 2 Point Historic and Vintage lap belt at £78.50, which suits classic cars and bench seats and is one of our better sellers in this range at 28 sold. It is 50mm webbing. There is also a Professional 2 point at £90 and a GHR 2 point at £80 if you want the newer ranges, and an AK 427 Cobra specific 3 point at £130.
Tell us the car and whether you get scrutineered
Scrutineered means a Corbeau Ultima Pro, and not scrutineered opens up everything from £78.50. If the car is a Caterham, a Westfield or an AK Cobra replica, say so, because there are versions cut for those rather than adapted. Ring and ask for Cameron.
