The Luke GMax 2 Point Historic Vintage Lap Belt, part code GM2, is a two-point lap belt designed for classic cars and vehicles with a bench seat. Luke Racing has been making harnesses in Sussex since 1975 as Corbeau’s motorsport division, and the GMax range is the classic end of that line. Straight-stitch sewing only: no overlocked seams, no mass production. The same method Luke started with in 1975.
50mm webbing throughout. Spring-loaded anti-creep strap adjusters at 75mm intervals prevent the lap belt from loosening between adjustments, which is the failure point on older harnesses with simple sliding buckles. The Moustache crutch strap geometry on Luke harnesses places the sub-strap tang at the correct angle for both comfort and restraint effectiveness. The red handle on the release box gives instant recognition to the driver and to rescue crews, which was a deliberate design choice from Luke’s earliest harnesses.
Each harness carries an in-house serial code for production history tracing. Five colour options: Black, Blue, Purple, Red and Silver. Sold as a single unit, which is the correct approach for a two-point lap belt.
The GM2 is for use in classic cars where a shoulder harness is not practical, and in cars with bench seating arrangements that do not have proper shoulder-strap anchoring points. If you are building a historic or vintage car and need a lap belt that meets club regulations, check the specific approval requirements for your series, as historic class rules vary on what is accepted. We carry the GM2 in all five colours. If a colour needs ordering in, we will confirm the lead time.
