Toyota Corolla 10th Gen bucket seat guide

E140/E150/E160, 2006 to 2013

The 10th generation Corolla is a popular platform for fast road builds and trackday use, mostly because it is a balanced, reliable car that is cheap to buy and easy to live with while you work on it. It is one of the better-served Corolla generations for a vehicle-specific frame: earlier Corollas, the 7th, 8th and 9th generations, have no off-the-shelf subframe in the current catalogue, so fabricating or adapting is the only route there. This generation is not one of those.

The Planted bracket is base mount and confirmed for this chassis. From there the seat you choose decides whether side mounts get added.

The fitting bracket

Planted Technology confirm a bracket for the E140/E150/E160 generation at £222.00 per seat, base mount. It bolts to the factory floor mounting points. Most bucket seats on this page are side mount, so a set of side mounts on top of the bracket is the usual route.

Bracket plus a reclining seat

Every reclining seat on this page is base mount and fixes straight to the bracket with nothing added.

Bracket plus side mounts

For every FIA bucket seat here. Cobra steel side mounts at £74.40 or the Sparco FIA steel brackets at £90.00 fit Sparco, OMP, Cobra and Sabelt shells alike.

The fitting kit

The bracket is priced per seat, so two front seats means two orders.

FIA competition bucket seats

Every seat here carries FIA 8855-1999 homologation except the two Cobra options, which are road and track rated. The Cobra Monaco Pro at £235 and the Sparco Sprint at £252.00 are the cheapest FIA shells. The Sparco Sprint L at £284.40 covers 40in to 42in waist, the widest fit on this page, and the Cobra Nogaro Club Sport at £629.00 is listed for over 6ft, useful if you are taller than average. The Cobra Suzuka T RT Track at £524.10 is listed for a narrower 28in to 32in waist and under 6ft.

Reclining sport seats

For a Corolla still doing daily miles, a reclining seat on the bracket keeps things straightforward and needs no side mounts. The Sparco R100 and R100 Vinyl at £235 sit on the same bolt pattern family as most of the range. The Cobra Daytona at £599.00 is the premium single-seat option, and two Corbeau pairs, the Sportline RRS and SVR Vinyl, work out around half their pair price per seat.

💬
Our recommendationTell us the intended use before ordering the seat

With one confirmed bracket and no cage to plan around, the seat question comes down to how the car is used. Cameron works out the fit and the best combination for a given car, so tell him whether it is a daily, a trackday car, or heading further, and he will narrow the list.

Harnesses

There is no harness made specifically for this car, so you are fitting a universal belt and working out the mounting yourself. The standard rear seat belt mounts are not rated for harness shoulder strap loads, so a bolt-in harness bar or a fabricated anchor point is needed, since no cage is currently confirmed for this generation.

The Schroth Profi 3×2 at £370 and the TRS Magnum 6 Point Superlite at £294.00 are both FIA 8853-2016. The TRS Magnum 4 Point at £139 is FIA 8854-1998. All three carry a stamped expiry date regardless of wear. For a road or trackday car, the Takata Drift II and III and the TRS Clubman belts cost less, though none of those four are HANS compatible.

💬
Our recommendationConfirm the anchor before the belt

With no cage confirmed for this generation, tell us what is behind the seats now and whether a head restraint is going in, and we will tell you what the shoulder straps can anchor to before you spend anything on the belt.

Roll cages

No roll cage is currently confirmed specifically for the E140/E150/E160. The AE86, AE92, AE82 and E120 cages listed elsewhere in the catalogue under the Corolla name are for earlier chassis on this site’s own generation split, and we are not going to sell you a cage built for a different floor because the title says Corolla. If you need a cage for this generation, ask us and we will check with the cage makers whether anything is planned for it, or whether a custom build is the only route.

What fits what

All seats below fit this generation on the Planted bracket, with side mounts added where the mounting column says side mount. Where a cell says not listed, the manufacturer has not published that figure.

Common questions

The Planted Technology bracket at £222.00 per seat, confirmed for the E140/E150/E160, 2006 to 2013, base mount. It is priced per seat, so two front seats means two orders.

Not for the 7th, 8th or 9th generations in the current catalogue. Those need a fabricated or adapted mount. The 10th generation, and later ones, are better served.

Not currently confirmed. The AE86, AE92, AE82 and E120 cages sold under the Corolla name are for earlier chassis in this site’s generation numbering, not this one, and we would rather say so than sell you the wrong part. Ask us and we will check what is available.

The Sparco Sprint L covers 40in to 42in waist, the widest listing on this page.

The Cobra Nogaro Club Sport is listed for over 6ft. Most of the others on this page are under 6ft or all heights.

For FIA competition, the Schroth Profi 3×2 at £370 and the TRS Magnum 6 Point Superlite at £294.00 both meet 8853-2016, and the TRS Magnum 4 Point at £139 meets 8854-1998. For road and trackday use, the Takata Drift II and III and the TRS Clubman belts cost less but are not HANS compatible.

No. They are not rated for the loads a harness shoulder strap puts through them in an impact. With no cage confirmed for this car, a bolt-in harness bar or a fabricated anchor point is the usual route. Ask us before ordering a belt.
