The Sparco R100 (00961NR) is the cloth-trim version of one of the most widely fitted reclining sport seats in the range. It’s been around long enough that you’ll see it in everything from Minis to Imprezas, which tells you most of what you need to know about how universal the fit actually is.
The frame is tubular steel at 13kg, which isn’t lightweight but is honest for a steel-framed reclining seat. The base mounts via Sparco’s 271mm x 345mm bolt pattern, which is shared with OMP and Corbeau base-mount seats, so any of the Sparco or Corbeau-compatible sub-frames work under it. Sold as seat only.
The design is deliberately lower-bolstered and narrower-framed than some alternatives in the reclining market. That matters in practice because the R100 fits into tight cockpits where a seat with taller outer bolsters won’t clear the sill or the centre console. The waist attribute lists all sizes as suitable, and in practice that’s accurate because the slim frame doesn’t squeeze anyone out.
The recline mechanism is a single lever, smooth and predictable. Harness slots in the backrest take a 4-point belt; the seat also works with a standard diagonal for everyday road use.
Colour options at the time of listing are Black, Black and Blue, Black and Grey, and Black and Red. We stock this seat in-store if you want to try the fit before ordering. Part number 00961NR.
Have you written anything about this exact product?
Yes, we have covered this exact product: Customer Question: A Sparco R100 Package For An Abarth 595, Both Sides, Priced, and Customer Question: How Do I Fit The Sparco R100 Seat Into My Subaru BRZ?. Some of that comes straight from real customer questions, so you are reading answers other buyers actually needed.
Will I fit in this seat?
The maker sizes this seat for drivers over 6ft and under 6ft in height. Those are the paper numbers; how a seat actually feels to sit in and climb out of is a different question, and our showroom team sit in these seats every day, so call us with your height and waist and we will give you the honest answer.
What do I need to fit it to my car?
You need the car-specific frame for your vehicle, plus a sliding runner for fore-and-aft adjustment. Tell us your car and we will quote the complete fitting kit in one go. Our sliding runner guide covers the adjustment side.
Does it recline like a normal seat, and what about armrests?
Yes, the backrest reclines, which is the whole point of a sport recliner over a fixed bucket: support in the corners, comfort on the motorway, and access to rear seats. Armrests: not fitted on this model. Our recliner lineup comparison shows how the ranges stack up.
I am a bigger driver. Will it work for me?
Possibly, and it depends on the exact shell rather than the brand. We wrote a straight-talking guide on sport recliners for larger drivers from real showroom fittings, and if you send us your waist and height we will tell you honestly which recliners work at your size.
