A Planted Technology seat bracket for the Subaru BRZ and Toyota GR86, second generation, 2021 onwards. Part number SB392.

One bracket for both, because they are the same car built in the same factory. The first generation takes the SB161 family.

What the second generation fixed

The 2.4 engine. The first car’s 2.0 had a well known flat spot in the mid range that the 2.4 largely removes, and the body is meaningfully stiffer. It is a better car in the ways owners of the first one complained about.

What has not changed is the philosophy: modest grip, light weight, and a car that rewards being smooth rather than brave.

Which is exactly why the seat matters

You cannot be smooth while holding yourself in place with your arms. On a car whose entire appeal is precision at modest speeds, a seat that moves under you costs more than it would in something faster.

Do I keep fore-and-aft adjustment?
Only with a sliding runner between the frame and the seat, which is a separate part on Planted frames. If more than one person drives the car, budget for the runner. Our guide to sliding runners explains the options and widths.

Both sides are available on this listing, pick driver or passenger side at the point of order (sides listed are for right-hand-drive cars). Left-hand-drive car? Ask us, as the sides swap over and availability varies by model.

We bring a batch over roughly every 3 to 5 weeks. Everything in each batch is pre-sold against a customer order, so the sooner your order is in, the sooner it ships.
