A Group A homologation special

Nissan built the GTI-R to go rallying: SR20DET, four wheel drive, around 227 horsepower in a very small hatchback, with that enormous bonnet scoop feeding the intercooler. They had to build 5,000 road cars to qualify and that is roughly all they built.

The rally programme was short and not especially successful, which is why the car is a footnote and why the road cars are now sought after.
