It is a side by side, not a car

Which changes almost everything. The X3 is built for desert racing and dune work, with enormous suspension travel and a turbocharged three cylinder. It is registered and treated quite differently from a road vehicle and you should check your own position on licensing and safety equipment before spending on the interior.

The seat lives outdoors permanently

Open cockpit, dust, water, and gear going in and out with mud on it. Fabric and velour absorb all of that and never dry properly. Ask us about neoprene trimmed shells, which shed water and can be hosed down. On this vehicle that is the single most useful decision.

Harnesses and cages

Most X3s already run a harness and a cage, so the seat has to work with both. Shoulder strap height relative to the harness slots matters, and so does clearance to the cage bars.
