A Planted Technology seat bracket for the BMW 2 Series coupe on the F22 chassis, 2014 onwards. Part number SB242.

We list more than one bracket against the F22, because BMW’s seat mounting on these cars overlaps with the wider SB120 family that runs from the E92 through the M2 and the M240i.

What the car is

A short wheelbase rear wheel drive coupe, and in M235i and M240i form quick enough to be genuinely fast on a circuit for a fraction of what an M3 costs. That combination is why so many end up on track.

The seat

The standard sports seat is better than average and still lets you move once the car is loaded up. If you are fitting a harness bar or a cage, do the seat at the same time rather than afterwards, because a harness holding you to a seat that is itself shifting undoes much of the point.
