Mazda MX5 MK3 Bucket Seat Guide
The Mazda MX5 MK3 (05-15)...
The Mazda MX5 MK3 had a lot to live up to. The Mk1 and Mk2 are incredibly popular track cars. Both of them have been heavily modified over the last 2 decades and everyone had the same expectations for the MK3. We’ve found that recently, demand for equipment has risen quickly as the MK3 gets used more and more for fast road and track use.
Taking design cues from the 2003 Mazda Ibuki concept car, the third-generation Mazda MX-5 was introduced in 2005 and was in production until 2015.
On cornering, you may find your self holding onto the steering wheel tighter than usual, tensing your thighs and legs against the central console and/or door card. The original tomb stone design seats, just like previous models, do not offer much in the way of support.Â
Your seat should provide the right level of support so that you can grip the steering wheel only for steering, your legs should be supported and your weight shouldn’t shift around. The recommendations we provide are to ensure that you feel comfortable and supported allowing you to focus on the job at hand.Â
We’ve worked closely with our customers to create our Mazda MX5 Mk3 seat guide.
The resulting recommendations are based on previous customer car installations.
Recommended brackets:
We recommend the PCI Racing Mazda MX5 Mk3 seat frame for all side mounted bucket seats.
We also recommend the Planted Technology seat frame with seat sliders for all base mounted reclining seats.
