Ford Focus ST225 bucket seat guide
2005 to 2010
The ST225 gets seated more often than the standard Mk2, and usually for the same reason: the car is quick enough that the driver ends up bracing against the standard seat rather than steering through it properly. A bucket seat on a direct-fit frame fixes that, bolting straight to the mounting points Ford already put in the floor.
Three brands list a dedicated ST225 sub-frame: Sparco, Corbeau and Planted Technology. All are specific to this car, distinct from the standard Mk2 frames.

Mounting
The Sparco direct-fit sub-frame (234914, part 004990681-ST225) at £92.50 bolts to the mounting points Ford already put in the floor, the same route as the standard Mk2 frame but on ST225-specific geometry. The Corbeau direct-fit sub-frame (234917) at £289.50 is the brand-specific option for a Corbeau seat.
The Planted Technology bracket (234911) at £187.46 covers the ST225 from 2008 to 2011 and works with a range of seat types; talk to us before ordering to confirm the combination.
For side mount, the Sparco FIA steel brackets (13876) carry their own FIA approval. Add the Sparco sliding runner kit (14036) for fore-aft adjustment.

Competition bucket seats
Most seats here carry FIA 8855-1999 approval. The Sparco Sprint at £210 and Sprint L at £237 are dual-mount options at an accessible price. The Cobra Monaco Pro at £235 is the steel-shelled alternative, with the intrusion resistance a fibreglass shell does not offer.
The OMP Champ-R at £318 and Mirco RS2 3D at £354.50 are lighter fibreglass options. The OMP WRC-R at £438, Mirco RTS-2 Velour at £349, Sparco Grid Q at £365, Sparco Circuit QRT at £440 and Sparco Evo L QRT at £510 sit at the upper end, all suited to an ST225 built for regular track use. Harnesses
Harnesses need a roll cage or harness barA 4-point, 5-point or 6-point harness with separate shoulder straps needs proper attachment points above and behind the seat. Fit a roll cage or a properly engineered harness bar before using anything above a 3-point belt.
The TRS Clubman 3-point bolt-in at £80 and 4-point clip-in at £100 both use the standard seat belt anchor points and do not need a cage. For 4-point competition use, the TRS Magnum 4-point FIA at £205 and the Takata Drift II at £229 are the step up.
For 6-point harnesses, the cage goes in first. The TRS Magnum 6-point Superlite FIA at £245, the Takata Drift III at £270, and the Schroth Profi 3×2 at £370 all suit a caged ST225 going to competition or serious track days.

Do I need an ST225-specific sub-frame?
Yes. The ST225 has its own sub-frame geometry, distinct from the standard Mk2. Sparco, Corbeau and Planted Technology all list an ST225-specific frame; the standard Mk2 frames are not the right part for this car.
Does the roll cage fit both 3-door and 5-door ST225s?
The Safety Devices cages are confirmed for the 3-door, non-sunroof body. The ST225 was also sold as a 5-door. Confirm your body style with us before ordering.
Can I run a 6-point harness without a roll cage?
No. A 6-point harness needs anchor points above and behind the seat for the shoulder straps. Fit a roll cage or a properly engineered harness bar first. A 3-point bolt-in harness uses the standard seat belt anchor points and does not need a cage.
