The Z24
The version with the 2.4 Twin Cam and later the 2.2 Ecotec, which is the one people build. It is not fast by modern standards but the Ecotec has decent tuning support behind it and the cars cost almost nothing.
An honest note on the platform
The J-body was in production in one form or another from 1982 to 2005, which is an extraordinarily long life for a compact car, and the third generation is very much a development of something old rather than a new design. It shows in how the car drives.
That is not a reason not to build one. It is a reason to spend the money on the parts that matter, which is why a bolt in bracket that needs no fabrication is the right approach here.

Do I keep fore-and-aft adjustment?
Only with a sliding runner between the frame and the seat, which is a separate part on Planted frames. If more than one person drives the car, budget for the runner. Our guide to sliding runners explains the options and widths.

Both sides are available on this listing, pick driver or passenger side at the point of order (sides listed are for right-hand-drive cars). Left-hand-drive car? Ask us, as the sides swap over and availability varies by model.
