If yours is an RS or an ST170
Read this before you order anything. The Mk1 RS came with Sparco seats and Ford built around 4,500 of them, and they are appreciating steadily. The ST170 came with Recaros. On either car those seats are part of what it is worth, so if they come out, store them and every one of their fixings somewhere dry and label them.
Worth knowing too: a factory Recaro will not bolt to standard side mounts, because Recaro use their own arrangement.

Do I keep fore-and-aft adjustment?
Only with a sliding runner between the frame and the seat, which is a separate part on Planted frames. If more than one person drives the car, budget for the runner. Our guide to sliding runners explains the options and widths.
