The Sabelt Ultralight Super Formula 6 Point Harness is a bolt-in 6-point single-seater harness approved to FIA 8853-2016. Shoulder and lap webbing are 2 inch. Bolt-in installation. HANS specific. Available in black, blue and red.

Super Formula is Sabelt’s designation for the harness used in senior open-wheel categories: Formula 2, GP3 and domestic championships at equivalent level. The buckle assembly, adjustment hardware and anti-submarine geometry in the Super Formula are produced to the stricter installation and extraction requirements of top-level formula cockpits, where the harness must be releasable under crash conditions with specific force and in specific directions.

Ultralight webbing is the lightest grade in the Sabelt range: thinner, more supple and lower mass than Steel, Silver or Gold. In a modern formula car where every gram in the cockpit matters, Ultralight webbing on the competition harness is the appropriate choice.

At £1,900 this is the second most expensive harness in the range, below only the Gold Super Formula (393G622FU6F, £2,275). The Gold Super Formula uses Gold-grade hardware with a quick-release buckle; this harness uses Ultralight webbing with the specific buckle assembly of the Super Formula category. For series that supply Sabelt as the specified harness, the exact product required is normally listed in the technical regulations.

For club-level single-seater racing where any FIA 8853-2016 harness is accepted, the Ultralight Formula (SABCCA622FRUN, £248) provides Ultralight webbing at a fraction of the cost.

How long does an FIA harness last?

Does it work with a HANS device?
Yes: only 6-point FIA harnesses work with a HANS device, and this belt qualifies. If you run a device, check whether you want the HANS-specific shoulder cut and ask us which suits your setup.

What does it mount to?
A harness needs proper anchor points: a harness bar, cage, or the car’s designed mounting points, plus a seat with the right slots. Tell us the car and seat and we will confirm the mounting plan before you order.
